Abdul ' Baaith Muwwakkil, aka Tyrone Alan Brown, departed this life on Wednesday, October9, 2019. He was born on August 25, 1957, to the late Elzie Smith Brown and the late Rev. Dr. J.W. Brown.
Baaith was educated in the Newark Public School System and graduated from Malcolm X Shabazz High School in 1975. After graduation, he pursued training in HVAC, received his license as a Boiler Operator, and worked for several years with the Newark Housing Authority.
Baaith also held a Maintenance Supervisor position with Zion Towers in Newark for several years, and he also served as an usher with Newark Symphony Hall.
Baaith had a zest for life. And, true to the meaning of his name, Baaith was a free spirit and loved adventure and excitement. During the last few years of his life, Baaith battled several illnesses, but he always had a sense of humor, and his strong faith in Islam helped sustain him.
In addition to his parents, Baaith is predeceased by his brothers, James, Timothy, Terrell, and Todd, and nephew, Rashan Barnes.
Baaith leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Abdul Mumin, Abdul ‘Baaith (Ibn), and Habeeb; one daughter Majeedah (Kevin); two sisters, Barbara (Carl) Milton, and Janet (Charles) Evans; ___ grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
