Mary Wilson was born Mary Juanita Vaughan in Pittsburg, PA as the oldest child to Jesse Vaughan and Mary Gatling-Vaughan. In her early childhood years the family relocated to northern New Jersey and became a full family with the addition of her brother Curtis and sister Wanda. Mary attended Newark Public Schools up threw high school where she met her future husband Martin Wilson. They both agreed to study the Islamic religion after being introduced to the Nation of Islam. Over time their research of the religion lead them to pursue the religion according to the ways of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Mary and Martin later married and had two children, Tihesha and Hassan while Mary obtained an Associate’s Degree at Essex County College along with a Bachelor’s Degree from New Jersey City University. Mary continued with a variety of endeavors which included financial coaching to children and young adults, and eventually started her own business named “Personal Financial Fitness Plan”. Her business allowed her to assist many individuals improve their credit reports, and money management in the Jersey City area. Later Mary relocated with Martin to the Poconos in Pennsylvania where she continued to do extensive research of the economic and political impact on the community at large. On August 22, 2019 after a long battle of challenges to her heart and blood sugar, Mary returned to Allah. She leaves behind her husband, two children, and three grandchildren (Tariq, Anai, and Kemet). Janaza for Mary Juanita Wilson AKA Sister Maryam wife of Brother Rashid Abdul-Malik and Mother of Sister Tihesha and Brother Hassan will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 immediately following the Dhur Salat. The burial will be at the Marlboro Muslim Memorial Park Spring Valley Road, Morganville (Old Bridge). Repast at family home in Stroudsburg, PA
