On July 30th, 2021, our beloved Bernard “Akbar” Bryant was called home. He was born on May 29th, 1955, to the late Dorothy Bryant and late Ceasar Bryant.
He was the "Funny Guy" at Westside High School, home of the Rough Riders. Akbar worked as a laborer for many years of his life; primarily for N.C.C. Central Maintenance Services as a painter until most recently, he worked for International Liquors as Security. He was GENUINE! Akbar was known for his fun-loving sense of humor. He could make you laugh on your worse day. He was KNOWN AND LOVED by so many he encountered.
Akbar leaves to mourn his son, Qaasin Gray along with his grandchildren & great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Barbara Johnson, Norene Bryant-Ganaway, the late Ceasar Bryant Jr., the late Morris Bryant, Geana Bryant, Khalif H. Rashid, and the late Cherildeana Bryant. He also leaves to mourn a sister-in-law, Kareemah Rashid, and brother-in-law, George Ganaway, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, and nephews as well as many cousins. THIS "FUNNY GUY", WILL DEFINITELY BE MISSED! When you think about him, JUST SMILE, HE'D LIKE THAT.
