James Harris Jr.

James (Al Tariq) Arthur Harris Jr. was born October 13, 1953 ,in Trenton, NJ to the son of James Harris, Sr and          Mattie Goss Williams. Al Tariq attended  Junior 4 and     Trenton High School. Al Tariq was very athletic and loved body conditioning. He accepted Al Islam early in his life and became  devoted to it. Al Tariq worked lots of jobs, he cut hair, worked in a clothing store and provided transportation to the less fortunate.  He also would visit the sick.

Al Tariq leaves one son Al Tariq Ayres, one brother Ambros Harris and one sister Christine Hellams whom he loved so much and brother-in-law John Billups. He also leaves two grandsons  Ahlek Mitchell and Al Tariq Mitchell, his aunt Marie L. Scott and Molly Goss. Three nephews; Irvin Hellams, Jamal, Tyree Billups, three nieces; Tiffany, Asia and Jamila. In addition  four great nieces and four  great nephews all from Philadelphia.

Al Tariq is predeceased by his parents James Harris Sr., and            Mattie Goss-Williams, his aunts Darcia Goss-Robinson, three uncles; Fred Goss, Alfoster Goss and Walter Goss. His nephew Saleem Hellams.

Al Tariq is survived by the Islamic community and host of nieces,   nephews and many other relatives and friends.
