John Amons Obituary

John Lee Amons A.K.A (Shaheed) was born September 13, 1963 to the late Hattie Mae. Amons and Shellie Amons in Jersey City, N.J. John attended Jersey City Public School system and continued his education at Malcom X Shabazz High School in Newark NJ.

He was a self-taught auto mechanic which his passion for cars led him to venture his career in a mechanical trade at NCC Automotive School in Newark, N.J. He found great pleasure in helping his family and friends with his skill. Cars were just one of the many things John mastered, He also inherited his moms great cooking skills.

John was loving family-oriented person. He was someone who always kept you on your toes, with his one-of-a-kind personality.

John Lee Amons departed life on October 3, 2020, John leaves a legacy of love for all his loved ones to cherish his memory; his wife Vera Amons. Brothers Larry Amons and James Williams(pewee). Sisters Lelia Alridge, Apostle Cynthia Amons, Regina and Renee Amons and Evangeleria Williams (Van). Sister in law Anna Amons. His children whom we know as his world, four sons David Buck, John Boyd and is Baby boy John S. Amons (John John) and Jerome Waters. Six daughters Tyjira Buck, Latonya Williams, Tyneisha and Danaya Covington, Johnisha and Nikita Robinson. He had 32 grandchildren, he also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces,     nephews, cousins and friends. Special friend Lenora Buck.

John was preceded in death by Matthew Williams, his Brother Kenneth A. Amons, Sister Marrianne Amons, Aunts Ethel Jones and Annie Bell Edge, Uncles Nute and Willie Albert Edge, Nephews Hudson J. Amons and Andre S. Amons, Daughter Tyisha Williams, Niece Timirah Cyniyah Amons, Granddaughter Jayla Heaven Baldwin, and Great- Nephew Zachariah Alqaawi Hargrove. Special friend Debra Robinson.
