Safiya Hasana Tabron was born to Hasana Muhammad and the late William Simmons in Mt.Vernon Hospital, Mount Vernon, NY on February 22, 1981. She died on May 25, 2020. She was 39 years old. Safiya, attended Madison Ave School in Irvington, NJ, IDS Islamic School in Orange, NJ; CHAD School in Newark, NJ and graduated from Irvington High School in Irvington, NJ.
Safiya, affectionately known as Fee, had a zest for living, and her enthusiasm was evident in every aspect of her life. Her smile was infectious, and her greatest joy was being able to show her love for her family and friends by helping them in any way she could. The most important things in Safiya’s life were her family and friends. She worked tirelessly at making sure these relationships were as loving, caring and as giving as they could possibly be. Safiya left a memorable impression on anyone that she came in contact with.
Safiya worked for Panda Express, Walmart as a Manager, Winchester Gardens Retirement Home, and Fed Ex. Safiya loved to model, take pictures and was very adventurous, and willing to try new things. She was very creative and loved designing pieces that represented the people and things she cherished in her life. She had her own unique style.
Safiya is survived by: her mother Hasana Muhammad, Step father Harold Muhammad, Grandmothers Virginia Simmons & Laura Byrd, siblings Ahmad Muhammad, Atif Muhammad, Alisha Williams, ( Donald Williams), Sharif Muhammad, ( Shafiqah Muhammad), Hassan Muhammad, ( Lea Muhammad) Shahid Muhammad & Nafisah Muhammad along with her nephews Kwane, Khalil and Maddox; six nieces Amaya, Aliyah, Hasana, Aminah, Hajjah, and Sarrayah; God children Shatirah, De’Andre, Zyaire, and Zyree, and her special friend Edward Simmons.
